Constant force springs in fridge doors

source:Qianye Precision time:2023-8-21

In order to make the fridge run efficiently, modern fridge doors can incorporate constant force springs to allow is to close automatically after you have opened the fridge for use. Nowadays it is this design that is still rare on the market, usually magnetic fridge doors.

If the door is left open for a long period of time, it can counteract the internal temperature balance and affect the quality of the food stored in it. When this situation persists for a long time, the compressor is unable to maintain a low internal temperature. This impairs its operational efficiency. In addition, the longer the door remains open, the hotter the inside of the refrigerator becomes.

Since it is vital to keep the doors closed, it is important to incorporate a constant force spring design in your refrigerator doors so that if you leave them open, they will close automatically.

Constant force springs are characterised by a high output force with minimal space requirements, applying an almost constant force throughout the extension process. Constant force springs are also characterised by a short initial preload, which means that they are able to withstand the rated load at short extension and provide long extension capability.

Spiral Wound Torsion Spring: A Guide to Design, Function, and Applications

Time:2023-6-7

A spiral wound torsion spring is a type of mechanical spring that is designed to work in torsion or twisting applications. This spring is made up of a flat strip of metal that is wound in a spiral pattern around a mandrel or core. The spring is then heat-treated to ensure that it maintains its shape and properties. Design The...

Do you know how clockwork toys work?

Clockwork toys use constant torsion springs made of stainless steel coils. An external force rewinds the spring to the output wheel (energy storage) from its natural state. When the force is removed, the spring returns to its natural state. At the same time, a constant torque (stored elasticity) is generated (released) at the output wheel, hence the term constant torque...
