Measure 10 or 20 coils and find the correct length that corresponds to the number on the chart.

Measure the inside diameter of the spring.

Measure the overall length of the spring.

Using this method, you can determine the correct torsion spring size and order a replacement. When you order torsion springs, have all three measurements and wind directions ready.

The force of the torsion spring is measured using half the length of the leg – the longer the force acting on the leg, the less force the torsion spring will transmit.
