How to choose double torsion springs suppliers, what is double torsion springs

A torsion spring is a coil spring that stores and releases angular energy or holds a mechanism in place. They feature two legs extending from each end of the coil and are used in applications requiring torque or rotational force. This is accomplished by attaching the legs to external components. Then, as the elements rotate around the spring, the spring tries to push them back to their original position.

Torsion springs come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, with different leg configurations and lengths, for a wide range of applications. Typical uses include automotive door handles, garage doors, clothespins, bulldog clips and hinges. In some cases, a single torsion spring cannot exert enough force. In these cases, a double torsion spring may be required.

What is a double torsion spring?

As the name implies, a double torsion spring is characterized by two torsion spring coils joined at the center to form one spring.
The two coils are made of a wire wound in opposite directions, one counterclockwise and the other clockwise. The two parts work in parallel, like a torsion spring, with the spring legs normally pressing against the outer assembly, which pushes the outer assembly back, creating resistance. The shaft or rod usually passes through the center of the two coil bodies.

Dual torsion springs are stronger than single torsion springs and can apply more force. The resulting force is equal to that of two separate springs combined.

Depending on the application, the bridge and legs connecting the two coils can be made in various lengths and shapes. In some cases, the bridge between the two coils will be small, just to minimize friction between the two coils. But it can also be quite large, creating a wide arch between the two coils. The design of the spring depends entirely on the intended use of the spring.

What is the purpose of the double torsion spring?

There are many different applications for torsion springs, and double torsion springs are no exception. They are best suited for applications that require spring assist for lifting or rotation as well as counteracting and centering rotational loads. If the element requires two identical torsion springs wound in opposite directions, then a double torsion spring should be used. This type of spring is widely used in the medical industry, aerospace, military applications, and even household appliances.

Torsion Spring Construction

Torsion springs can be made of steel, copper or titanium. The steel may be rust-resistant wire, piano wire, drawn wire or oil-hardened steel.
Torsion springs are usually designed to bend slightly to return to their original shape. However, this potential is reduced if the springs are turned over or “overstressed,” meaning they’ve bent so much that they’ve now exceeded their elastic limit.
Therefore, you must get torsion springs from a reputable manufacturer who can guarantee high-quality design and performance.

Selecting a Double Torsion Spring Supplier
If you are looking for dual torsion springs, there are many factors to consider when selecting a supplier.
You want to choose a manufacturer who understands torsion springs and how to use them, and has a track record of producing consistent, high-quality springs in a realistic time frame.

Because there is no tension in the constant force spring that pushes the nail, naturally, no nail can be driven. The pushing device of the nail gun uses the constant force spring, because the constant force spring has the characteristic of keeping the constant force in the long stroke, and it can achieve a very high elasticity output in a...

A constant torque spring motor is a strip of prestressed spring material that forms a coil and is stored on a small storage drum. The free end is then pinned and rewound onto the larger output drum; this is the "winding" part of the constant torque spring cycle. When the output drum is released, the spring will return to the...
