Timer is a precise timing device, which uses mechanical clock to drive the switch. Its time positioning is very accurate, and it can achieve such effect. Spring plays a great role in it. The timer mainly includes three parts. The first part is the power component, spring one-way mechanism, can only tighten, not loose. Tightening the spring provides power for the whole system. The second part is the release component. By a series of gear speed, the number of rotation cycles increases when the spring is relaxed. At the end of the gear system, there are grab wheels, grab claws and swimming wires to ensure that the gear system rotates at a constant speed driven by the spring. There is a device on the swimmer to adjust the length of the swimmer to adjust the swing frequency of the grab claw to ensure that the gear rotates at the set speed, and the tightened spring won ‘t be loosened at once, nor is it affected by the spring tightness resulting in changes in speed. The third part is timing trigger device, so that a gear in the gear group turns to a certain angle to send a mechanical signal, control interruption.

When the timer is screwed to a certain scale, two things are actually done. One is to tighten the spring and provide power to make the timer start working. The other is to set the trigger position of the trigger mechanism. Then the whole structure under the control of the grab wheel, slowly release the spring power, all levels of gear began to rotate at a constant speed, until the trigger mechanism action.

At present, the thickness of many springs on the market is the same. When the spring is rolled or loosened, the force of the spring on the gear will be different. The travel time accuracy of the timer is affected by the output force of the spring.
