At this point, the lifting spring rapidly expands and releases its stored energy, pushing the fan blades upward and creating a flow of air. This upward force helps to reduce the amount of friction between the fan blades and the air, allowing the fan to operate more efficiently and quietly.

 

Electric fan lifting springs are commonly used in ceiling fans, where they help to provide a smooth and consistent flow of air. They are also used in some types of table and floor fans to help improve their performance.
