What should we know about the installment of the constant force spring ?

Quelle:Qianye-Präzision Zeit:2023-8-21

Constant force spring usually installed with one end wrapped tightly on the drum and the other end connected to the load. We should know below knowledge during the installment procedure.

  1. The drum diameter should be 10% to 20% larger than its natural diameter.

  1. One and one-half length of the spring should bewrapped on the drum.

  1. Stainless steel strip springs become unstable when stretched for a long time and should be guided to prevent twisting or kinks during recoil.

  1. The diameter of the drum must be greater than the natural diameter and must never be used to contribute to a backbend opposite the natural radius of curvature.

  1. Constant force springs can be installed in the cavity without bushings. This installation means is simple and cheap. However, the friction encountered results in relatively high lag.

  1. Constant force springs mounted back to backcan make the sum of the two spring forces available at one point.  This approach also provides stable extension over long deflections.

  1. Mounting in series also makes the sum of the two spring forces available at one point, but does not increase stability.

  1. Pulley mounting doubles the force of a single constant force spring, but reduces cycle life.Laminated installation, where two or more springs are intertwined into an assembly, providing the sum of their forces in the smallest possible space.
